Mr. Brown was one of the thirteen children of Mr. and Mrs. Jackson Brown, pioneer settlers in Pawnee township. He was a brother of Ernest Brown of Smith Center. The funeral was held from Mt. Hope church in Logan township, Sunday, Dec. 6, at 2 p.m., with a nephew, Rev. Duane Keefer, Denver, Colo., officiating. Burial was in Mt. Hope cemetery. Frank Brown was born in Smith county, Kansas, June 7, 1886, and passed away at his home in Pawnee township, Dec. 3, 1952 at the age of 66 years 5 months and 26 days. He lived in Smith county all his life except four years spent at Burr Oak, Kansas, 1902-1906, and two years in Topeka attending business college, 1912-1913. He then returned to the farm. He accepted Christ and was added to His church at the age of 18, while at Burr Oak, Kansas. On May 3, 1914, he united in marriage with Ruth Carper of Lebanon, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jackson M. and May (Mary) Brown; five sisters and six brothers. He is survived by his wife, Ruth; one sister, Flora Blair, Neosho, MO; and two brothers, Ernest Brown, Smith Center, Kans., and Harry Brown, Almena, Kans.; and a host of other relatives and friends. Frank Brown was known as a real neighbor, always willing to help when he was needed. He was jolly and loved to visit with people. He will be sadly missed by his wife, relatives and friends.
