Description	:	Frankie E. Peters, 84, of Taylor, Nebraska, died Friday, April 2 5, 2003, at the Valley County Hospital in Ord following a short illness. Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Rhoad Funeral Home in Sargent, Nebraska, with Rev. Deverle Cooper officiating. Music was provided by Jerilyn Tonnigcs, soloist, and Jerryl Rowse , organist. Pallbearers were Jon Peters, Sally Hoepker, Timothy Yantzie, Andy Yantzie, Sheila Peters, Marty Yantzie, and Stephanie DcNaeyer. Burial was in Kent Cemetery, Loup County, Nebraska. Mrs Peters was born December 20, 1918, at Almena , Nebraska, to Frank W and Grace E (Drake) Strohl. Frankie lived most of her life in Loup County. She graduated from Taylor in 1916. FrankiE worked for William Strong Store in Almena and spent a summer working on a reservation in South Dakota. At the time of her marriage, she was clerking in the J I Wiles Store in Taylor. During the 1960s. she cooked for a restaurant in Taylor, then was hired on at Becton-Dickenson in Broken Bow, retiring after 16 years of service. She married Gordon Peters on December 6, 1941, at Pierce. They lived on the Peters home place until 1948, when they moved to the Bromwich place in the Kent Community. In 1964, they moved to their home one mile north of Taylor, where she lived for the rest of her life. Frankie always raised a big garden and enjoyed working with her flowers. She made quilts, loved to embroider, do crossword puzzles, play cards, fish and go camping. Her grandchildren made her day when they came to visit. Many friends and relatives will miss her long newsy letters. She was a longtime member of the Kent Korner Klub, belonged to the Loup County Historical Society and was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary 6159. She was treasurer of the Loup County Fair Board for more than 20 years. Frankie was baptized in September 2002 in the North Loup River on her grandfather's old place. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Pat Peters; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Bob Yantzie, all of Taylor; a brother and sister-in-law, Donzel and Arlene Strohl of Taylor; and three sisters-in-law, Deloris Lyon of Grand Island, Darline Thein of Hastings, and Martha Peters of Cairo.
