Description	:	Obituary: Geneva Joy Byrd Cheeks, 74, of Elk Creek, Va., passed away Aug. 19, 2013, at Grayson Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Independence, VA. She was born June 22, 1939, at Fries to the late Evelyn Semones and Richard Byrd. She was also predeceased by two brothers, Paul and Gene Byrd; and sister, Ruby Byrd and her husband, Bayes R. Cheeks. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Lisa Bolen Cheeks of Galax, special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tony and Angie Cheeks of Independence; special long-time friend, Billy Testerman; and several nieces and nephews.
