The snow was falling, so we know the Angels were cleaning house for Dad’s arrival into Heaven. Read More	George Devlin, Sr., 93, passed quietly in the early morning hour, Monday, October 26, 2020. The snow was falling, so we know the Angels were cleaning house for Dad’s arrival into Heaven. Our Dad, Grandpa, Gramps, Great-Grandpa, got his final wish to be re-united with Mom, the Love of his life – how great thou art – I did it my way. Dad lived a full 93 years, born August 11, 1927. Mom and Dad shared 67 years together with Mom passing in 2017. Dad was a GOOD MAN, KIND, GentleMAN and a lifetime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He proudly served our country in the US Navy during WWII. He had a STRENGTH beyond measure. That was his GENERATION, STRONG, TOUGH and STUBBORN. He enjoyed a good cold beer, and never lost his taste for one. Once a Railroader, always a Railroader; Dad worked 44 years as a machinist in the Santa Fe shops. He and Mom traveled in their RV for 25 years, making lifetime friends. Dad headed down the highway with the CB Handle “Silver Fox”. He loved the Casino. This year, 2020, has affected each and everyone of us. COVID-19 appeared. Things changed. But Dad remained positive and strong throughout this journey. We often remarked how Dad lived nine plus lives, never complaining, always telling us, “I’m alright.” “I’m okay,” “I feel fine”, smiling and never asking for much. Becoming a Grandpa and Great-Grandpa was Dad’s greatest Joy! He adored them and they loved him with visits, phone calls and care packages packed with enough goodies to share. “Time may pass and fade away, but memories will always stay.” A legend he was! Privileged to have shared his life are children, George (Shirley) Devlin, Kansas City, and Jan (Al) Branson, Vassar KS; grandchildren, Jason (Angela) Branson, Sean (Mary) Devlin, Jeremy (Annie) Branson, Mike (Iris) Devlin and Carrie Galloway; great-grandchildren, Colson Branson, Christopher Devlin, Coby Branson, William Devlin, Mason Branson, Reagan Branson and Elizabeth (Lizzy) Galloway; and his devoted sister-in-law, Mildred Richter. We are grateful for the staff at Midland Pace Program who went above and beyond to make sure Dad was provided comfort and arranged for him to pass with dignity at Midland Hospice House. We were reminded often what a pleasure it was for them to care for him. A CELEBRATION OF DAD’S LIFE will be scheduled when the time feels right. Until then, Irish eyes are smiling – grilled cheese sandwiches and chocolate milk are being enjoyed. Cheers to you, Dad! Rest now. His life is a continuous thread, a life well lived.
