Garton, born at Waukesha, Wisconsin., on July 22, 1848, and died at his home south of Marathon on August 5. 1922, at the age of 74 years, 16 days. When fourteen years of age he moved to Jordan, Wis. He was united in marriage to Ella Amanda Ableman on March 30, 1872, and to this union four children were born: Frank and Ross of Marathon and Marshall and John who died some years ago. Garton, born at Waukesha, Wisconsin., on July 22, 1848, and died at his home south of Marathon on August 5. 1922, at the age of 74 years, 16 days. When fourteen years of age he moved to Jordan, Wis. He was united in marriage to Ella Amanda Ableman on March 30, 1872, and to this union four children were born: Frank and Ross of Marathon and Marshall and John who died some years ago. He also leaves to mourn his death his devoted wife and one sister, Mrs. Joe Morton of Laurens and a brother Edwin Garton of Grand Junction, Colorado, and ten grandchildren, all of whom were at his bedside except the brother. He was one of the early settlers of the county coming to the county fifty years ago. He was a devoted husband and father and a good neighbor and is mourned by a large circle of friends. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon by C. E.
