Tower Avenue. He was a member of the Centralia Rotary Club. A member and Sunday School Superintendent at the First Baptist Church for many years. He was a great believer in education, and in the 1920's he was on the school board and was one of the originators of the Centralia Junior College. He was a great believer in education, and in the 1920's he was on the school board and was one of the originators of the Centralia Junior College. He also gave land for one of the Centralia Grade Schools. His hobby was raising registered polled Hereford cattle which he did on three farms in the Grand Mound and Little Rock area. He married Emily Green of California in 1914. They had six children. He was a native of the city, having been born August 20, 1891, the son of John Galvin, an early-day mayor and community leader. He was a real estate and insurance agent and rancher. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Centralia, Centralia lodge, No. 83, and A.H., Rotary club, past president of the SWW Polled Hereford Association, and a member of the State Right-Of-Way association. Survivors, in addition to the window, Jane, at home are: four sons, Lee Galvin, Salem, Ore.; Dr. Ross M. Galvin, Centralia; George J. Calvin, Longview, and Knight Galvin, Olymjpia; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Jane Lightle, Auburn, and Mrs. Marsha Carrington, Chehalis; two stepsons, Don R. Kay, Wenatchee, and Edward Galvin, Centralia; a sister, Mrs. Mary Poundstone, Palo Alto, Calif., and 22 grandchildren. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m., at Newell-Hoerling's. The Rev. I.J. Brame will officiate with burial at the Mountain View Burial park. Pallbearers will be James Benedict, Robert Brister, Ellis Oliver, Ernest Sorensen, Norton Selp and Benjamin Salewsky."
