Description	:	Miss Gladys Walters Dies Saturday Noon Miss Gladys J. Walters, 67, died at the Hiawatha Community Hospital at 12:10 Saturday morning, March 31, 1962. Miss Walters had been ill for several months, and recently was in a depressed condition. She had spent a week in the Kansas University Medical Center, prior to returning to Hiawatha to stay in the home of her sister, Mrs. Irvin Dannenberg, 211 Oregon street. Read More	Miss Gladys Walters Dies Saturday Noon Miss Gladys J. Walters, 67, died at the Hiawatha Community Hospital at 12:10 Saturday morning, March 31, 1962. Miss Walters had been ill for several months, and recently was in a depressed condition. She had spent a week in the Kansas University Medical Center, prior to returning to Hiawatha to stay in the home of her sister, Mrs. Irvin Dannenberg, 211 Oregon street. Friday morning the family aroused, had breakfast the same as usual, Miss Walters helped Mrs. Dannenberg with breakfast dishes and making the beds, then unnoticed, she went to the basement and attempted suicide by hanging herself. She was discovered hanging in the basement by Irvin Dannenberg, in an unconscious condition. Mrs. Dannenberg breathed into her mouth while Mr. Dannenberg summoned the help of Drs. Duckett and Meidinger, and the Hiawatha Fire Department resuscitator was used. She was then taken to the Hiawatha Community Hospital where she remained unconscious until death occurred Saturday morning. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Homer Taylor, Mrs. Irvin Dannenberg of Hiawatha, two brothers, Lloyd Walters of Hiawatha and J. Wesley Walters of St. Paul, Minn. Funeral services were held at Meek's Chapel at two o'clock Monday, April 2, by the Rev. Noble Butler. Interment was at the Hiawatha Cemetery. —The Hiawatha Daily World (Hiawatha, KS) Mon.
