Mr. Walters is survived by three daughters, Miss Gladys Walters of the home, Mrs. Homer Taylor of Hiawatha, and Mrs. Irvin Dannenberg of Hiawatha; two sons, Lloyd Walters of Hiawatha and Wesley Walters of St. Paul, Minn.; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Mary Justice of Hiawatha, and brother, David Walters of Hiawatha. Mr. Walters is survived by three daughters, Miss Gladys Walters of the home, Mrs. Homer Taylor of Hiawatha, and Mrs. Irvin Dannenberg of Hiawatha; two sons, Lloyd Walters of Hiawatha and Wesley Walters of St. Paul, Minn.; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Mary Justice of Hiawatha, and brother, David Walters of Hiawatha. Mr. Walters, a native of Wales, had lived in this community for 87 years. He was a prominent farmer and landowner of northeast Brown county. Funeral services will be held at Meek's chapel at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon, June 6, by the Rev. Clifton P. Gunnels. Walters was born April 3, 1868, at Penllwyn, Wales, to Hannah Morgan Walters and Morgan Walters. He departed this life June 3, 1959, at 8 p.m. at 403 Kansas avenue, Hiawatha, Kans., at the age of 91 years and two months. He came to America with his parents in 1872 and was among a group of Welsh people who settled northeast of Hiawatha. He was married to Martha Griffith of Los Angeles, Calif., May 24, 1893. They established a home on a farm northeast of Hiawatha. To this union six children were born; Miss Gladys Walters of the home, Lloyd Walters, Hannah (Mrs. Homer Taylor), Griffith Morgan Walters, who departed this life February 15, 1911, Olwen (Mrs. Irvin Dannenberg), J. Wesley Walters of St. Paul, Minn. Four grandchildren survive: Elsie Mae Walters (Mrs. Charles Bailey) of Homestead, Fla., Patricia Sue Walters and Robert Wesley Walters of St. Paul, Minn., Roy Eldon Jones of Hiawatha, Kans. Four great grandchildren also survive: Steven Roy Jones and Jannifer Kay Jones of Hiawatha, Kans., Constance Louise Walters and Dean Wesley Walters of St. Paul, Minn. His wife, Mrs. Walters, preceded Mr. Walters in death March 19, 1959. Mr. Walters is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Mary Justice, and a brother, David Walters, both of Hiawatha. Two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Schrader and Mrs. Emma Weible, preceded him in death. Mr. Walters taught school four years in Brown county.
