Description	:	Glen Jimeson, 91, formerly of Hiawatha, died Monday evening, July 6, 2015, at Meadowlark Hills Retirement Center in Manhattan. Glen Samuel “Jim” Jimeson was born November 27, 1923, at White Cloud, KS. He was the fifth child to Glen D. and Hazel D. (Mullihan) Jimeson. Read More	Glen Jimeson, 91, formerly of Hiawatha, died Monday evening, July 6, 2015, at Meadowlark Hills Retirement Center in Manhattan. Glen Samuel “Jim” Jimeson was born November 27, 1923, at White Cloud, KS. He was the fifth child to Glen D. and Hazel D. (Mullihan) Jimeson. In March of 1924, the family moved to a farm six miles north of Hiawatha, KS on highway 73. He attended country school prior to graduating from Hiawatha High School in 1941. Glen was drafted into the US Army at the end of World War II and was stationed at Ft. Lewis, WA, serving in the engineer headquarters. On January 18, 1945, he married Betty Mueller at her parents' (Carl and Ethel Bruning Mueller) home, located northwest of Hiawatha. Glen and Betty established their home 5 1/2 miles north of Hiawatha on highway 73. There they operated their family farm by raising hogs, cattle and farming. In 2002 they moved to Hiawatha and in September, 2014 they moved to Meadowlark Hills Retirement Center in Manhattan, KS. Glen was a member and served on the Bethany United Church of Christ consistory, a member of the Hiawatha Masonic Lodge and Elks Lodge #1741. He served on the Padonia Township board for 12 years where he was instrumental in getting the cemeteries maintenance revenues through the tax rolls . From 1976-88, he worked as the first agri-business rep at the Morrill & Janes Bank & Trust and became a director and stockholder under the ownership of Harlan Schram. Glen wrote “I have a strong sense of faith and family. I enjoy all types of music and like to dance. I believe very strongly in stewardship of the soil and my hobby is work." Glen is preceded in death by his parents and sisters; Erma Davis, Emma Davis and Martha Bauman. Glen is survived by his wife of 70 years, Betty, of the home. Their children: Connie Rockey (Bill) of Wamego, KS; Sam Jimeson (Philip Schaider) of Houston, TX and Merrie Sue “M.S.” Jimeson of Austin, TX. His grandchildren: Shane Rockey and Shannon (Michael) Leitch: great grandchildren: Darby, MaryKate and Quinn Leitch all of Wamego, KS. Siblings include: Oscar of Colorado Springs, CO, Richard (Naomi) of Oklahoma City, OK, Arthur (Linda) of Hiawatha and Evelyn Fox of Albuquerque NM. Glen is also survived by his brother-in-law, Buck (Sally) Mueller of Shenandoah, IA. A Celebration of Glen’s life is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, July 11, at the Bethany United Church of Christ, with Pastor Shane Spangler officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Hiawatha.
