Jimeson, 94, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2016 at Springs Village Care Center in Colorado Springs after a month long battle with pneumonia. Oscar was born January 25, 1922 at White Cloud, KS. He was the fourth born child and first born son to Glen D. and Hazel D. (Mullihan) Jimeson. His parents moved to a farm north of Hiawatha, KS where he spent the rest of his childhood attending country school and helping his parents on the farm. While working on the farm, Oscar learned by hand how to fix farm machinery which served as a stepping stone to his career as an auto mechanic. Living in Kansas he also liked to fish at nearby rivers and lakes and also pheasant hunting. On March 3, 1946, Oscar married Mary Lucille Barrow of Highland, KS at St. Charles Church in Troy, KS and was married until her death in July 1990. One son, Roy was born to this union. In 1959, after living in Highland, KS for many years, the family decided to move to Colorado Springs, CO where he worked at various auto dealerships. In 1969 he started working for the City of Colorado Springs Fleet Management Division working on utility and city vehicles until his retirement in 1986. Oscar served two years in the U. S. Army during World War II. During this time he was stationed in the Aleutian Islands and in Panama working with radar. He was a member of the VFW Post 4051, where he did volunteer work helping to prepare meals and in 1999 met his companion Charlaine Kirk. He and Charlaine enjoyed going to the Friday night dances at the VFW. Oscar is preceded in death by his parents, and sisters Erma Davis, Emma Davis, Martha Bauman and a brother Glen S. Jimeson. Oscar is survived by his companion Charlaine Kirk, son Roy, brothers Richard (Naomi) of Oklahoma City, OK, Arthur (Linda) of Hiawatha, KS and a sister Evelyn Fox of Albuquerque, NM. Visitation will be held on Monday Feb. 8, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Swan Law Funeral home, 501 North Cascade Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80903. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday Feb. 9, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. St. Joseph's Church, 1830 S. Corona Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO. 80905 with a reception to follow. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Memorial Hospital Central and Springs Village Care Center for their care. Memorial contributions may be made in Oscar's name to a charity of one’s choosing. Private interment will take place in Hiawatha, Kansas.
