Mr. Allison, who resided at 1323 Main street, had not been ill previously and his death came as a shock to family and friends. A lifetime resident of this community, he was born Jan. 4, 1914, in this city, the son of John and Madge BERNETHA ALLISON. He attended the First Baptist church, was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Elks and Moose lodges. Mr. Allison was best known for his golfing exploits. He was three times men's champion of the local country club. After World War II he became a professional and for a short time partitipated in pro tourneys in various parts of the country. Later, Mr. Allison returned to this city and for a number of years was resident pro at the Elks country club. He also had operated Allison's Dry Cleaning Shop here with his mother, who survives. The business was founded by his father. Surviving, besides the mother, are three daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Susan) ANDERSON, Kokomo; Mrs. John (Linda) GREEN and Miss Jan [ALLISON], both of Rochester. One brother, James [ALLISON], died April 2, 1966. Last rites will be Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home with the Rev. Donald LAMBERT officiating.
