Cremation has been held. Schumacher-Hasemann Funeral Home in Wayne is in charge of local arrangements in Wayne. Mrs. Paige was born Aug. 5, 1914, at Monroe to James and Lois (McCombs) Thomazin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alonzo, in 1982, and by a daughter, Lois. Survivors of the immediate family include three sons and daughters-in-law, James and Sharyn Paige of Wayne, Alonzo "Butch" and Anita Paige of Rapid City, S.D., and Alan and Sandra Paige of Ramstein Germany. Additional survivors include eight grand-children and 10 great-grandchildren. Hazel graduated from Loup City High School in 1932, and then attended Wayne State College, Hastings College and Kearney State College, to receive her Teaching Certificate. Hazel married Alonzo Lloyd "Lonnie" Paige on March 14, 1935, at Loup City. She lived in Loup City and taught in several rural schools before teaching in Loup City Public School, retiring in 1979. Following her retirement she moved to Florence, Ariz., in 1993, for full-time residency. Hazel was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Loup City, First Presbyterian Church in Florence, Ariz., corresponding secretary for the Loup City Alumni Association, Loup City golf club. She also enjoyed golf, crossword puzzles, bridge and other games. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Craig.
