She was born in Loup City, Neb. and had lived in Kansas City 20 years. Surviving are her husband, Robert Hayes, and a daughter, Jennie Ruth McClean, both of the home, and a brother, Duane Thomlinson [sic], Seneca, Mo. Paige left Tuesday night for Kansas City, Mo. where they were called following the death of Mrs. Paige's sister, Mrs. LaVerna Hayes. Funeral services will be held in Kansas City with burial in Evergreen Cemetery with Steele Funeral Home in charge. Survivors are her husband, daughter Jenny Ruth; a brother Duane Thomazin all of Missouri and her sister Mrs. Paige. Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Paige returned here Thursday morning from Kansas City, Mo. where they were called following the death of Mrs. Paige's sister Mrs. LaVenna [sic] Thomazin Hayes. They were accompanied here by Mrs. Hayes daughter Miss Jenny Ruth McLean, who will make her home with the Paiges. Jenny Ruth is in the sophomore class. Services For Former Resident Held Here Services were held Saturday, Jan. 16 at the Steele Funeral Home Chapel for Mrs. LaVerna Thomazin Hays who died unexpectedly Jan. 11 at Kansas City, Mo. Mrs. F. J. Leschinsky accompanied Miss Harriet Gallaway who sang. Rev. J. Caro Russell conducted the service. Burial was at Evergreen cemetery. LaVerna Thomazin Hays was born Aug. 22, 1918 at Ceresco, Nebr. She was the daughter of James and Lois Thomazin. With her family she came to Sherman County when she was three years old. She attended schools, and, with her family, joined the First Baptist Church. She moved to Sineca [sic] Mo., in 1942 and later to Kansas City, Mo., where she remained until her death Monday, Jan.11. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Keith. LaVerna was united in marriage previously to R. L. McLean. She is survived by one daughter, Jennie Ruth, her husband, R. C. Hays, her brother Duane Thomazin, and her sister Hazel Paige.
