Description	:	From The Hiawatha Daily World, Monday, December 11, 1995: Hazel Bearce, 90, of Hiawatha died Sunday afternoon, December 10, 1995 at the Oak Ridge Acres Nursing Home where she had been a resident since July of 1994. She was born March 17, 1905 near Hiawatha to George and Ida Lyman Davis. She grew up in the Hiawatha area and graduated from Hiawatha High School in 1924. Read More	From The Hiawatha Daily World, Monday, December 11, 1995: Hazel Bearce, 90, of Hiawatha died Sunday afternoon, December 10, 1995 at the Oak Ridge Acres Nursing Home where she had been a resident since July of 1994. She was born March 17, 1905 near Hiawatha to George and Ida Lyman Davis. She grew up in the Hiawatha area and graduated from Hiawatha High School in 1924. She married Charles Bearce on June 11, 1924 at her parent's farm home, four miles east and a half mile south of old Highway 36. The couple farmed for many years in the Hiawatha area, retiring in the early 1960's. They enjoyed going to McAllen, Texas for the winters after their retirement. Hazel was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Gray ladies, and the following clubs: KK, MM, Prairie Springs, and LaGrange, all of Hiawatha. She was preceded in death by a son, Gary Lee, who died November 27, 1989; one brother and four sisters. Hazel is survived by two daughters; Pat Aller of Hiawatha and Joan Erickson of Highland; six grandchildren: Steven Erickson, Carol Erickson Beck, Terry, Jerry and Jim Aller and Bill Bearce; 10 great grand-children; and one great great grand-child. Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 13 at the Framke Casselman Meek Chapel in Hiawatha at 2 p.m. with Pastor Jean Marie Grabber. Burial will be in the Mr. Hope Cemetery, Hiawatha. Memorials are suggested to the UMW at the church. Friends may call at the funeral home after 9 a.m. Tuesday until services on Wednesday.
