KAUFMANN, 54, long-time resident of Cass county, died Monday, July 22, 1945, at 5:45 a.m., at the University Hospital at Omaha; death following a stroke he sustained ten days ago. Mr. Kaufmann was born in Cedar Creek, Nebraska on August 6, 1888 to William and Lena (Franke) Kaufmann. He married Julia Warga at Council Bluffs on June 30, 1908, they have one daughter Florence. He was engaged for a number of years in farming but in late years, has made his home here in Plattsmouth where he has many friends that will regret to hear of his passing. The funeral services for Henry Kaufmann were held this afternoon, Wednesday July 24, at 2 o'clock at the Caldwell funeral home at 7th and Oak streets, with a large group of the old friends and neighbors present to share with the family the sorrow that his passing has occasioned. Rev. A Leniz, pastor of the Christ Lutheran church of west of Plattsmouth, conducted the services and brought the consolation of the scriptures to the members of the bereaved family circle. During the services Frank A. Cloidt gave two of the old hymns; "The Last Mile of the Way," and "In the Sweet Bye and Bye.", Miss Estello Baird being the accompanist. Survivors include: Wife, Julia; daughter, Mrs. Florence Duda, Plattsmouth; parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Kaufmann, Plattsmouth; sisters, Miss Nella Kaufmann and Mrs Emma Gregg, both of Omaha; brother, Fred Kaufmann, Plattsmouth. The burial was at the Oak Hill cemetery and old friends served as the pallbearers; Marvin Winters, Lloyd Holman, Fred Buechler, Ray Herold, William Kief and Robert Caldwell Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
