Please feel free to contact me if anything needs correcting or if you'd like additional photos or information posted or corrected. + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + This is my great grandfather Henry Lange, age 95 years and 9 months, the oldest resident in Waucoma was born April 27, 1856 in Hanover, Germany and died Saturday Jan. 26, 1952 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Carrie Blong. Funeral services were held at the Stapleton Lutheran church near Waucoma Monday Jan. 28 at 2 o'clock. Rev. A.H. Deimer in charge. Six grandsons, Matt Blong, Raymond Lange, Gerald Richards, Jerome Heit, Wesley Weiderman and Emil Stange were casket bearers with burial in the church yard cemetery. He was married in Germany to Miss Louis Bosse, Mar. 21, 1887, the family coming to this country 70 years ago. Mr. Lange hired out as a farm hand for several years then bought the farm 3 miles southeast of Waucoma where they spend their entire life. His wife died, Dec. 22, 1933 and in 1940 he came to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Carrie Blong. He had been bedfast since Oct. of 1951. Surviving are four children, Henry Lange of West Union, Herman and Will Lange, Mrs. Carrie Blong all of Waucoma. Also six grand children and 10 great grand children. Two sons, August and Fred preceded him in death. His mothers maid name was Tormohlen. He had been married twice, as the obituary for his wife, Louisa says "She was married March 21, 1878, to Henry Lange, assuming the duties of a mother to his infant child by a former marriage. She became the mother of five children." He was a brother to Engel Winter, (Mrs. Henry Winter), who is also buried in this cemetery.
