Romeiser Passed Away May 2 At His Home** Henry William Romeiser was born on a farm four miles northwest of Glasco, Kansas, on February 22, 1884, the third son of Conrad and Caroline Gnatkowsky Romeiser. He was baptized in the Lutheran church April 13, 1884, by W.C. Seidel, pastor. He was taken out of school at an early age to assist with work on the farm. In 1912, together with his mother and other members of the family, he came to Glasco, where he made his home until his death on May 2, 1951, at the age of 67 years, 2 months and 8 days, following a brief illness. Henry was a conscientious and tireless worker while in good health but was compelled to retire several years ago on account of arthritis. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and three brothers. Surviving him are four sisters, Margaret, Mary, Louise and Leonora; two nieces, five nephews, four grand nieces and seven grand nephews. Funeral services were conducted by Pastor Eugene Smith at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran church on May 5, 1951, at two o'clock p.m., and interment made in the Glasco cemetery under direction of the McDonald Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Wilbur Romeiser, Claude Kellogg, Neil Talley, Raymond Kellogg, Henry Beck, and John Cox. Assisting with flowers were Mrs. T.V. McCollough and Mrs. John Cox.
