Leonora Caroline Kellogg was born Oct. 26, 1897 to Conrad and Caroline Gnatowsky Romeiser on a farm near Glasco. Her earthly life of 96 years, one month and 18 days ended Saturday evening, Dec. 18, 1993, at Cheyenne Lodge Nursing Center in Jamestown, Kans. Leonora was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith at Saint Paul's Evangelical Church in Glasco. She attended Fairview District No. 58 school in Cloud county. On Feb. 12, 1919, Leonora was united in marriage to Claude Raymond Kellogg at Glasco. To this union was born one child, a son Claude L. Leonora spent her entire life in the Glasco area. She and her family lived on a farm for several years. She later ran a boarding house in Glasco and moved into town. She loved taking care of her home; always busy cleaning, sewing and cooking for her family. After her husband's retirement, they did extensive traveling, spent the winter months in Mission, Tex., and made many lasting friendships through the Drifting Clouds Camping Club. Her kind, congenial manner enabled her to make friends easily. Leonora was preceded in death by her parents, her son Claude in 1970, her husband, Dec. 22, 1981, one brother, Henry Romeiser, two sisters, Louise Romeiser and Mary Small, and other relatives. Left to celebrate her long and productive life and mourn her passing are her grandchildren Ruth Ellen Simmons and husband Flyn, Bedford, Tex; Raymond John Kellogg and wife Sherry, Fritch, Tex.; Del Wayne Kellogg and wife Dena, Amarillo, Tex.; four great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Casket bearers were Dr. Claude Harwood, Jim Henning, Marvin Henning, Ross Kelly, Bill Martin and Andy Struble. Interment was in the Glasco Cemetery, Glasco, Ks. Dean Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
