Foster passed to his reward, May 30th, at the age of 73 years and 4 months, the funeral services being held Wednesday afternoon from his late home in New Market, conducted by the Methodist pastor, Rev C.F. Foster passed to his reward, May 30th, at the age of 73 years and 4 months, the funeral services being held Wednesday afternoon from his late home in New Market, conducted by the Methodist pastor, Rev C.F. Smith. Interment was in the Memory Cemetery. Born January 29th, 1954, in Fulton County, Ill., he was the son of Joseph and Marie Foster. He came with his parents to Page County, Iowa, in 1875, settling on a farm near Clarinda. He was united in marriage to Lucretia Merritt, December 6th, 1882, and they have been happy in the fact that all of their five children are still living, except one who died in infancy. In 1924, Mr and Mrs Foster retired from active farming, leaving the farm for a son to run, while they took up a residence in New Market. He was a man of sterling qualities, highly respected, and standing for the right, his quiet Christian spirit being shown in many deeds of kindness. The wife and four children survive him, all able to be at his side in the last illness. The names of the children are: Mrs Florence Wamsley, Sam Foster, Fred Foster, and Joe Foster of Clarinda. The grandchildren are: Beulah Wamsley, and Ray, Merritt, Harold, Dona and Ethel Foster. Seven brothers are also living, and a host of friends. CLARINDA HERALD, Clarinda, Iowa, Jun 2, 1927
