Description	:	"The entire North Side learned of the death of Dr. Howard H. Wallace with a sadness that is seldom felt. Both the shock of his death and the loss of a well-loved man who brought relief to many sufferers, as well as a readiness always to do a good neighborly act bring grief to his many friends. Dr. Wallace, a graduate of the American School of Osteopathy of Missouri in 1916, was awarded a California State Certificate as a drugless practitioner in 1921 by the Medical Board of Examiners. Dr. Wallace, a graduate of the American School of Osteopathy of Missouri in 1916, was awarded a California State Certificate as a drugless practitioner in 1921 by the Medical Board of Examiners. His practice was carried on in Berkeley until he came to El Dorado County to invest in mines about 1929. He operated the Hodge Mine near the Travis creek bridge, now under lease to Wilber Timm as the Blue Ledge. He was interested for a year in a gravel property east of Placerville with Los Angeles parties. Recently he did assessment work on his locations adjoining the Alhambra mine and chrome locations in the Bear Creek district where he made his headquarters. In the meantime he practiced his profession. Dr. Wallace made friends easily through his genial and intellectual personality, acts of kindness and consideration, and sympathy at all times. About two weeks ago friends near him noticed something wrong with him but could not persuade themselves to speak of it to one so apparently perfectly strong physically. He was finally taken to a physician who immediately pronounced his condition partial paralysis, due to a clot on the brain. Taken to the county hospital he sank rapidly into unconsciousness and died Sunday morning. He leaves a mother and brother in Nebraska who directed that he be laid to rest in the Kelsey cemetery near the friend whom he had learned to love and who loved him sincerely. Memory Chapel had charge of funeral arrangements. Graveside services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Kelsey cemetery."
