Irene was a member of the Mater Dei Assumption Parish and the Santa Fe Old Timers Club. Irene married Donald G. Halleron on May 3, 1968 in Shawnee, Kansas. He preceded her in death on May 22, 1999. She was also preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters. She is survived by three nephews, John and Jim Tinsley and Tim Tollefson, a niece, Joan Kuck, all of Topeka, along with many other numerous nieces and nephews. Irene will lie in state at after 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 4:30 until 6:30 p.m. and a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Mater Dei Assumption Parish. Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Irene's memory may be made to the Helping Hands Humane Society or to Mater Dei Assumption Parish and sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral, 800 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, KS 66603.
