He was a WWII U.S. Navy Veteran, a retired farmer, and a member of Red Walnut Church of Christ. Mr. Evans enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ollie Faye Austin Evans of Scotts Hill, three sons, Yonna Evans of Scotts Hill, Dennis Evans of Decaturville, and Nat Evans of Pocahontas, Arkansas; two children he raised as his own, Susie Overman and Michael Austin of Lexington; a sister, Virginia Johnson of Lexington; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; sixteen grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren.
