She worked at Alters in Council Bluffs and performed home day care for many years. She later went back to work as a lab technician and retired from DCI in Omaha, Nebraska. Jan was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald Owen Sr., stepson Don Owen Jr., and grandson Jacob Robinson.
