Mr. Anderson was superintendent of the Topeka water works plant for 20 years before he retired in 1987. He graduated from Topeka High School in 1939. He was a graduated from Washburn University in 1946 and earned a mechanical engineering degree at Kansas State in 1948. Mr. Anderson was a member of Potwin Presbyterian Church and had been a member of Second Presbyterian Church. He also was a member of Gideons, Topeka Engineers Club and the Topeka Retired City Employees Club. He was married to Marjorie Louise Farrish on Dec. 20, 1944 in Topeka. She died Feb. 22, 1969. He was married to Marcella Wade Edwards on May 1, 1971, in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, James E. Anderson, McPherson, and Paul A. Anderson, Topeka; a daughter, Janet S. Anderson-Story, Baldwin City; a sister, Jean M. Anderson, Seattle; a brother, Richard A. Anderson, North Ridgeville, Ohio; and seven grandchildren. Mr. Anderson was cremated. Memorial services will be at 10:30 am Saturday at Second Presbyterian Church. Inurnment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Second Presbyterian Church or to Gideons International or to the Topeka Community Foundation.
