The deceased had been a long sufferer from chronic diarrhiea which he contracted in the army. Those who were accustomed to seeing this gentleman on our streets and saw him declining slowly but gradually until he was unable to leave his home, cannot but feel that the long imprisoned soul has at last been freed from the ravages of a disease that make his life far from being a pleasant one. A few weeks prior in his death he disposed of his farm west of the city and purchased the home where he died. Mr. Yegge was a brave soldier during the late war and served honorably for three years defending the stars and stripes, which were today wrapped around his coffin during the funeral ceremonies. The Grand Army post had charge of the arrangements and escorted the body from the home to St. Joseph's church, where Father O'Connor celebrated high mass and delivered an able address. After the exercises were over at the church the post took charge of the funeral exercises and escorted the remains to St. Joseph's cemetery where they were laid to rest with Grand Army honors. The funeral was largely attended and many sympathizing friends followed the procession to the grounds to pay the last tribute of respect to one of the men who had contracted a disease while in the service of his country that brought him to an untimely end.
