GUSTAFSON Wife of Building and Loan Man Succumbs After Goiter Treatment Mrs. Josephine Caroline Gustafson, 43, 1111 Military Avenue, wife of Ernest V. Gustafson, secretary of the Council Bluffs Mutual Building and Loan Association, died Monday afternoon at 4 o'clock after an operation performed for goiter at the Wisc Memorial Hospital in Omaha. Mrs. Gustafson, a resident of Council Bluffs for thirty-five years, entered the Omaha Hospital Saturday forenoon. She had been ill for one month. The body was removed to th Cutler Funeral Home in Council Bluffs. Funeral services will be held Thursday with burial in Walnut Hill Cemetery. Services at the house will be held at 2:15 o'clock and at Immanuel Lutheran Church at 3 o'clock. The body will lie in state at Cutler's Funeral Home Wednesday. Rev. Carl Henderson, pastor of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, which both Mr. and Mrs. Gustafson attended for several years, will officiate. Mrs. Gustafson was born in Essex on January 16, 1884, and in 1892, at the age of 8 years, she moved to Council Bluffs with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Nelson. Besides her husband and parents, Mrs. Gustafson is survived by one son, Robert Everett Gustafson and one daughter, Arlene Marian Gustafson, both at home; and one sister, Mrs. Earl C. Baker, also of Council Bluffs. Council Bluffs Daily Nonpareil, August 9, 1927 TO ATTEND FUNERAL Members of the McPherson Avenue improvement club will attend the funeral of Mrs. E. V. Gustafson in a body, Thursday according to the officers. Services will be held Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
