Read More	Wife of Howard Sweet Mother of Herbert-Myrtle-Emery Married Howard Sweet 14 Jan 1903 OBITUARY The death of Mrs. Josephine Sweet, wife of Howard Sweet, occured Wednesday morning September 10, after a lingering illness. About a year ago, Mrs. Sweet contracted the influenza and never fully recovered from the effects, although everything that medical skill and loving care could do was done. For a time she was a patient in the Concordia hospitl and was later taken to q hospital in Kansas City, but apparently her mission on earth was complete and her spirit returned to God who gave, Just nine days after the passing of her father, the late Anton Kratochvil Sr., who was called to his reward September 1. Josephine Krtochvil was born February 12, 1883, in Marshall county, and her girlhood was spent in Marshall co and Clay counties. On January 14, 1903, she was united in marriage with Howard Sweet and most of their married life was spent in the Sherman neighborhood of this county. There are three young children, Herbert age 19;Myrtle aged 15. and Emory aged 11 years, who will miss the sweet influence of a mother in their lives, as well as her care and interest in their welfare. In Mrs. Sweet a beautiful life was exemplified a noble example of patience, fidelity and faith was given and her memory will be cherished by loved ones and friends. She leaves beside her husband, children, her mother, Mrs. Anton Kratochvil Sr., four brothers Emil Kratochvil of Clay Center, Anton, George and William Kratochvil of Irving, and two sisters Mrs. Mary Musil and Anna Lakin at Clifton. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, September 12, at the Sherman church and were conducted by Rev. Carriker, Pastor of the Clifton Presbyterian church. A quaret from Morganville furnished appropriate musical selections. Burial was made in the Sherman Cemetery.
