Description	:	Stratford Courier October 25, 1945 Josephine Johnson, daughter of Charles and Anna Johnson, was born Jan. 25, 1868, in Hardin township, Webster county, Iowa, and passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Carlstedt, Oct. 21, 1945, after a couple of years of failing health, at the age of 77 years, 8 months and 26 days. Read More	Stratford Courier October 25, 1945 Josephine Johnson, daughter of Charles and Anna Johnson, was born Jan. 25, 1868, in Hardin township, Webster county, Iowa, and passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Carlstedt, Oct. 21, 1945, after a couple of years of failing health, at the age of 77 years, 8 months and 26 days. She came to the South Marion community with her parents in early childhood, where she lived practically all of her life. On Nov. 24, 1892, she was united in marriage to Fred Anderson. To this union three children were born: Justin and Lloyd Anderson and Mrs. John Carlstedt, all of Stratford. She was a member of the South Marion Methodist church, and also a charter member of the American Legion auxiliary of Stratford. She leaves to mourn her departure, two sons and one daughter, five grandchildren, Mrs. Leonard Wilhelm, Pfc. Kenneth Anderson, who is serving with the United States Army in Japan, Doris Anderson, Mrs. Clifford Runyan, and Marlene Anderson. Also five great grandchildren, Margaret, Barbara, Patricia and Karen Wilhelm, and Eugene Runyan. Two sisters, Mrs. Mary Eckstein of Boone, and Mrs. Hattie Andrews of Denver, Colo., and many other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held at the South Marion church Oct. 24, 1945, the Rev. A. Rasmussen officiating. Two songs were sung by Mrs. Arthur Larson and Miss Velva Berglund, "Sweet Bye and Bye," and "Abide With Me." The floral arrangement was in charge of Miss Pearl Swedlund and Mr. and Mrs. Verlyn Fry. The remains were laid to rest in the South Marion cemetery. The pallbearers were J.W. Kail, Clarence Carlson, Rudy Andrews, Garrett Johnson, Vern Berglund and Emil Berglund.
