Description	:	Death of J.J. Reeves Joshua J. Reeves died very suddenly last Monday morning at his home in this city. He had been ailing for several days, but was up and around and attending to his business at the garage and saloon. He complained that he could not sleep at night, could not lie down. On Sunday, he was taken by Dr. Mackay to Colfax, where a x-ray examination was made by Drs. Mackay and Peers, and it was found that his heart was a little abnormal, and also that one lung was congested. That night his wife sat up with him... Read More	Death of J.J. Reeves Joshua J. Reeves died very suddenly last Monday morning at his home in this city. He had been ailing for several days, but was up and around and attending to his business at the garage and saloon. He complained that he could not sleep at night, could not lie down. On Sunday, he was taken by Dr. Mackay to Colfax, where a x-ray examination was made by Drs. Mackay and Peers, and it was found that his heart was a little abnormal, and also that one lung was congested. That night his wife sat up with him all night, and in the early morning, he said that he was better, and urged her to go to bed. He lay down on the lounge by the fire. Later, when Mrs. Reeves got up, she found him breathing hard, and he soon passed away. Jot Reeves was born and raised in Lincoln. He came to Auburn a number of years ago, and has operated the Opera House saloon and cafe ever since. Some years ago he accepted the agency for the Overland automobile, and he has given that business most of his attention of late. He belonged to Silver Star Parlor, Native Sons of the Golden West, at Lincoln, and was for years the Secetary of the North Fork Game Protective Association. He is mourned by his widow, formerly Dolly McCormick, and three boys, Norman, Mervyn and elwin. He also leaves tow brothers. Emmett Reeves, Joe Reeves of Lincoln, and one sister. Mrs. McKenna of Oakland. Jot Teeves was a jovial, generous man, true to his family, and of the highest standing to his business associations. He was a native of Lincoln, Placer county, aged 45 years. The funeral was held Thursday morning at 9 o'clock, from St. Joseph's Church, in Auburn. Interment at I.0.0.F. cemetery. Rev Father Vereker officiated at the services. Following were the pall bearers; F.R. Bell, Elmer H. Gum, L.A. Durea, A.C. Bequette, Martin Michael and E. Waymire.
