JOHN WESLEY MARKER Julia Melvina Parker was born at St. Charles, Madison county, Iowa, August 21st, 1859, and died at her home near Norwood after a long illness, February 10th, 1918, aged 58 years, 5 months and 19 days. On December 15th, 1880, she was united in marriage to John Wesley Marker, of Lucas county. To this union were born ten children, five sons and five daughters, Ida E. Pottorff, of Chariton, William E., Clinton B., Milton A., Jesse E., Riley O., Olive M., all of Norwood, Dollie J. Pottorff, of Manville, Wyo., who was not present at the funeral, Bessie Faye McKinney, of New Virginia, and Zena Ann Brown, who died on January 21, 1915. In 1870 she was converted to Christ and united with the New Light Christian church. She lived a faithful, consecrated Christian life. She leaves her faithful companion and nine children, who have tenderly ministered to her wants. There are six grandchildren surviving and two deceased, besides two brothers and three sisters. The funeral services were held at the home, three miles northwest of Norwood, on Tuesday, in charge of Rev. E. W. Curtis, and interment was made in the Fletcher cemetery.
