She was born in Germany and had been a resident of Council Bluffs and this vicinity for forty-six years. She is survived by seven sons, Henry and Theodore Sieck of Council Bluffs; Albert Sieck of Madison, Neb.; Walter Sieck of Omaha; Benjamin A. Sieck of Dumfries; and Arthur E. Sieck of Weston; two daughters, Mrs. Frank Stevens of Papillion, Neb., and Miss Alice M. Sieck at home; two brothers, John Martens of Council Bluffs and William Martens of Germany; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Carlson of Wayne county, Neb.; Mrs. Emma Krenke and Mrs. Adalla Soeth, both of Germany, and eleven grandchildren. The body is in charge of Woodring's funeral home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon. There will be services at the funeral chapel at 12:30 o'clock preceding services at the Hazel Dell church at 2 o'clock. Rev. J. F. Stille of the Glenwood Baptist church will officiate, assisted by Rev. J. D. Payne. Burial will be in Hazel Dell cemetery. Source: Daily Nonpareil, Council Bluffs, Iowa Monday, February 4, 1929 Page 7 Sieck Funeral Is Held Large Crowd Attends Rites at Woodring Chapel Funeral services for Mrs. Katherine Sieck were held Wednesday afternoon. A short service at the Woodring mortuary preceded longer services at the Hazel Dell church at 2 o'clock. Rev. J. S. Stille of Glenwood, Ia., officiated, added by Rev. J. D. Payne. Music was furnished by Mrs. Charles King nad Mrs. T. S. Heaton of Council Bluffs. All pallbearers were sons, Henry, Albert, John, Theodore, Walter, Benjamin and Arthur Sieck. The funeral was very largely attended, especially at the Woodring chapel. Burial was in the Hazel Dell cemetery. Mrs. Sieck was born in Germany sixty-five years ago and came to Minden when she was 18 years old. She resided in Pottawatomie county from that time until her death. She owned property at Fourth avenue and Thirty-fifth street. Her husband, Marcus Sieck, was born in Germany, went to Davenport, Ia., as an orphan and has lived in Pottawatomie county for fifty-eight years.
