Description	:	Keith A. Myers, 91, of Hiawatha, died early Sunday morning, March 8, 2009, at the Hiawatha Community Hospital where he had been admitted Thursday evening. Keith was born north of Robinson, December 26, 1917, one of two children of Jacques Dutell and Clara Edith Derrick Myers and was a lifelong resident of the northeast Kansas area. He grew up near Robinson where he attended country school prior to graduating from Robinson High School with the class of 1936. Myers, 91, of Hiawatha, died early Sunday morning, March 8, 2009, at the Hiawatha Community Hospital where he had been admitted Thursday evening. Keith was born north of Robinson, December 26, 1917, one of two children of Jacques Dutell and Clara Edith Derrick Myers and was a lifelong resident of the northeast Kansas area. He grew up near Robinson where he attended country school prior to graduating from Robinson High School with the class of 1936. Keith was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, discharged at the rank of sergeant. He returned to this area where he farmed near Highland for 8 years prior to moving to Everest to farm 8 years. He moved to Hiawatha in 1963 and worked for Streib Plumbing, Meyer Lumber, and as a parts representative at Davies Implement before retiring in 1982. He then helped Ed Hageman of Hiawatha part-time with harvest and needed times for a number of years. Mr. Myers was a member of First United Methodist Church of Hiawatha. He also was a member of the Nemaha Nomads, and Traveling TP's, both area camping chapters. He was active in the Hiawatha Senior Citizens Center. He was married to Marge Dunn, November 22, 1942, at Austin, Texas. She died November 27, 1997. He later married Lillian Gibbs Gladhart in July 1998. She survives. Also surviving are a son David and his wife Shirley Myers of Hiawatha; step-son Richard and his wife Bonita Roberts of Derby; and a sister Jean Schuerman of Erie, PA; and four nieces. He was also preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services are planned for 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hiawatha. Pastor Randy Quinn, of the First United Methodist Church of Hiawatha, will officiate. Internment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Hiawatha.
