| Description | : | Buddy was the son of Miles P. Martin and Ruth P. Martin, the beloved brother of Ruth V. Martin all of Newport News VA. He enlisted in the US Marine Corps on September 13 1966 in Richmond VA and in Vietnam he served with Company C, 1st Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st MARDIV (Rein) FMF. A Marine squad on a combat patrol near the La Thap village complex in the Duy Xuyen District of Quang Nam Province was hit with a heavy volume of rifle fire from a VC positioned in a tree line killing two men.
