Description	:	L. C. Burwell was born in Cedar County, Iowa, Aug. 9, 1877, the oldest of a family of seven children. When he was three years of age he moved with his parents to Nebraska where they lived until the fall of 1883 when they located at Plymouth county, Iowa. On Feb. 18, 1903 he was united in marriage to Miss Cora Ferris at Akron and they moved to a farm north of Sibley. Later they located on a farm near Marathon whey they lived until 1912 when Mr. Burwell retired from active farming and moved into town. In the fall of 1924... Read More	L. C. Burwell was born in Cedar County, Iowa, Aug. 9, 1877, the oldest of a family of seven children. When he was three years of age he moved with his parents to Nebraska where they lived until the fall of 1883 when they located at Plymouth county, Iowa. On Feb. 18, 1903 he was united in marriage to Miss Cora Ferris at Akron and they moved to a farm north of Sibley. Later they located on a farm near Marathon whey they lived until 1912 when Mr. Burwell retired from active farming and moved into town. In the fall of 1924 the family moved to Carroll where Mr. Burwell, who traveled for the Leighton Supply company of Ft. Dodge, made his headquarters. He had been in ill health for the last few years and was bedfast for nearly a year. Death was the result of Bright's disease and other complications. Mr. Burwell is survived by his widow and seven children, Mrs. Reen Johnson (Ruby) and Mrs. Everett Anderson (Inez) of Alta, Chester, Mrs. H. Charles Stratton (Vera), Myrtle, Walter and Arlene. He also leaves two grandchildren, five sisters; Mrs. Myrtle Chase, Mrs. Nellie Clark, and Miss Sylvia Burwell of Marathon, Mrs. Maggie Jeffers of Akron and Mrs. Florence Essick of Dickens; and one brother, Walter Burwell of Storm Lake. He was preceded in death by him mother, who died two week ago and his father who died Dec. 18, 1926. Mr. Burwell was a member of the United Commercial Travelers of America. The body will be taken home from the Huffman Funeral home this evening.
