Description	:	Many friends throughout this community were greatly shocked when they learned of the departure of Mrs. J.W. Helber of Bonne Terre, whose demise occurred between twelve and one o;clock. The deceased had been confined to her bed for the past two years and she had suffered considerable pain for six months prior to her demise. Mrs. J.W. Helber nee, Lena V. Horton, daughter of the C.P. The deceased had been confined to her bed for the past two years and she had suffered considerable pain for six months prior to her demise. Mrs. J.W. Helber nee, Lena V. Horton, daughter of the C.P. Horton was born near Bonne Terre, MO January 4, 1879 In the year of 1903 the deceased was united in marriage to John Wesley Helber of Bonne Terre. To this union five children were born, all surviving: they are Harry, John, Charles, Wallace and Joseph Lee. In young womanhood, Mrs. Helber placed her trust in Christ and united with the Maplewood Baptist Church in St. Louis county. On her return to this city her church membership was transferred to the First Baptist Church of Bonne Terre where she served willingly and gladly as long as her health permitted. She was a devote Christian and willing church worker and was especially interested in the missionary work of the church. The deceased left Bonne Terre to reside in the west six years ago hoping to regain her health in order that she might be able to be with her family. She was away for fifteen months and even though she waged a Great fight for restoration of health, she had to bow to the inevitable. At the time of her departure she was 53 years, 1 month and 17 days of age The deceased was Not only a member and active worker of the Baptist church but has been an honored member of the Home Culture Club and a beloved member of the Local Priscilla club. Up to the time of her demise there was five generation in this family. Mrs J.C. Johnson, great great grandmother, Mrs. M.L. Horton, great grandmother, Mrs. J. W. Helber, grandmother, Mr Harry, father and Joyce Helber daughter. She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband, mother, grandmother, the previously named children and many other relatives and a wide circle of friends. Funeral services were conducted from the First Baptist Church of Bonne Terre with the pastor Rev. J.B. Ragsdale officiating. The many friends and loved ones and the club members and church members assembled to pay the last tribute of respect to her. The floral offerings wer e numerous and beautiful Interment was made in the Bonna Terre Cem with the Benham Undertaking company in charge
