Langel, 81, lifetime Le Mars resident, died Monday (Dec. 1, 1975) at Brentwood Good Samaritan center after an extended illness. He had lived at Brentwood for three years. Mr. Langel was born Aug. 19, 1894, in Le Mars, a son of Theodore and Mary Ahlers Langel. He had farmed near here until his retirement in 1950, when he moved to Le Mars. His marriage to Pauline Rolfes took place April 29, 1919, in Le Mars. He was a member of Trinity council, Knights of Columbus, Wasmer post and Eagles lodge. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic church, Le Mars. Rev. Frank Staber will officiate and burial will be in Calvary cemetery under direction of the Luedtke funeral home. Wasmer post will conduct military graveside rites. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Tuesday and the parish rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The KC rosary will be recited at 9 p.m. Tuesday. Six sons will be pallbearers. Survivors are his wife Pauline: six sons, Clarence, Alton; Leonard, Donald, Roman, Richard and Marvin, all of Le Mars; three daughters, Mrs. LeRoy (Viola) Kellen, Le Mars; Mrs. Richard (Bernice) Tierney, Rockford, Ill.; Mrs. James (Mary Lou) Senn, Littleton, Colo.; 50 grandchildren; four great grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Ben (Margaret) Schraad of Adrian, Minn. He was preceded in death by a son LeRoy and a daughter Anne; four brothers, Joseph, Frank, William and Theodore, and by five sisters, Mrs. Mary Ortmann, Mrs. Anna Ortmann, Mrs. Rose Rolfes, Teckla Langel and Mrs. Philomena Harpenau.
