Description	:	The following provided by Find A Grave contributor Stephen Bogner: Lila Eugenia Boice was born Feb. 10, 1891 in White Lake Township, Oakland County, Michigan. Lila was the daughter of Eugene Palmer Boice and Lizzie Elizabeth Boice (born Watchpocket). She was raised an only child, her younger brother dying in infancy. Read More	The following provided by Find A Grave contributor Stephen Bogner: Lila Eugenia Boice was born Feb. 10, 1891 in White Lake Township, Oakland County, Michigan. Lila was the daughter of Eugene Palmer Boice and Lizzie Elizabeth Boice (born Watchpocket). She was raised an only child, her younger brother dying in infancy. After her parents were divorced, she was brought up in Michigan by her mother and an aunt. She also worked in a store as a young woman. Lila came to Montana with her mother in about 1912, and she homesteaded a few miles east of the Floyd Terry homestead. She donated two acres of her homestead for a school. It was School Dist. # 23, and when it was dissolved, the land and schoolhouse reverted back to her. (Lila later gave this property to her grandson Milton Terry, along with her original homestead. Milton’s father and Lila’s son, Loren Harold Terry, was killed on May 13, 1945 at the age of 21 while on active service during the liberation of the Philippines.) Lila married Floyd Isaac Terry July 21, 1914 in Fort Benton, Montana. Floyd and Lila had a family of 11 children together, 9 of whom survived into adulthood. She was involved with 4-H, a Home Demonstration Club, and was known throughout the neighborhood for her baking powder biscuits. After her husband’s sudden death in 1948, Lila had a nervous breakdown and spent a few weeks at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Billings for treatment. She lived in Fort Benton for a time, and later in Big Sandy. Then she went to work for Herman Schultz, taking care of his wife, Minnie, who had been an invalid for years. After Minnie's death, she and Herman moved to Big Sandy. They enjoyed fishing, and did a lot of it for a few years. When Herman's health failed his son and daughter moved him to Great Falls, and Lila’s mental health rapidly deteriorated. In 1975 she was moved to the Home of the Good Shepherd in Havre, Montana. She was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, which she suffered with for many years, and died February 23, 1989 at the age of 98 years.
