She was preceded in death by a son, Gale Victor; daughter, Melissa, and grandson, Steve Carver. Surviving are her husband, Rev. Jay Murphy; daughters, Elda McGinnis of Mooresburg and Hertha McKinney and Hattie Carver, both of Morristown; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Vola Carpenter of Bean Station, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 23, at 10 a.m. at McNeil Funeral Home of Mooresburg with Rev. Bill Carroll officiating. Burial was in Meadow Branch Cemetery in Bean Station."
