Description	:	Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church in Arnold on Wednesday afternoon, May 29, 1940 for Mrs. Warren D. Copeland, who passed away at her home about six miles southwest of this city on Sunday , May 26. Rev. Christian R. Garver, Paster of the Methodist Church, officiated at the funeral services, beautiful comforting hymns were sung by the Misses Rachel, Nellie, and Tressie Hartman, with Mrs. C. W. Kiser as accompanist. Pallbearers were Cecil and Luman Wonch, Orville, Elgin, Everett and Albert Chesley, and the body was laid to rest in the Powell Canyon Cemetery. Mrs. Copeland's maiden name... Mrs. Copeland's maiden name was Lucy M. Chesley, she was born at Morrison, IL on Sept. 20, 1866 having thus attained, at the time of her death, the age of 73 years,8 months and 6 days. She was the youngest of the family of seven children, of whom only two now survive Mrs. Ida Barnes of Gratiot, WI and C. E. Chesley of Prosser, WA. Mrs. Copeland has been a resident of Custer County and of the community since 1887, having made her home near Arnold for 53 years, and during these yearshad earned the friendship and high respect of a great many people who sincerely regret her passing. Mrs. Copeland had not been in good health for the pass two years, but it was only a short time before her death that her condition became serious. Thus passes from our midst another of the early pioneers of this section and community. Mrs. Copeland is also survived by her husband, Warren D. Copeland, to whom she was married on July 2, 1899 and also by two sons born of a previous marriage, Lynn C. Walker of Arnold, Keith G. Walker of Dix. One son Harold C. Walker, died of the age of three months, another son Norman A. Walker passed away when ten years of age and a daugther Elsie Walkerdied when only five months old. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Note: 1st marriage to Henry Martin Walker
