Description	:	Warren D. Copeland, 82, died Sunday, March 1, 1942 at the Arnold Hospital. He had been in failing health for a number of months and entered the hospital about two weeks ago. Age 82 years, 4 months and 15 days. Services were held Wednesday, March 4, 1942, afternoon at two o'clock at the Methodist Church with Rev.E.N. Littrell pastor. Mrs. Lonnie Swisher and Rev. Littrell sang during the services, accompanied by Mrs. John Dennis. Pallbearers were George Brooks, Luman and Cecil Wonch, Orval, Elgin and Everett Chesley. Interment was in the Powell Canyon Cemetery. Warren Denslow Copeland, son of Jared and Dimmis (Wilson) Copeland, he was born on October 16, 1859 in New York State. When a child, he moved with his parents to Michigan, then to Downs County, Kansas. In 1888, he came to Arnold, Nebraska and took a homestead in Powell Canyon east of Arnold, Custer County, Nebraska. He was married on July 2, 1899 to Lucy May Chesley Walker, who died on May 26, 1940. He united with the Christian Church over 40 years ago and remained faithful. He spent his entire life as a farmer, and he was progressive and interested in the less fortunate. He leaves his brother, Jared J. Copeland of Arnold, Nebraska, and he being the last of 9 children in the family, also survived by two stepsons, Lynn C.
