She passed away on December 29, 2017 in Des Moines, Iowa after a short illness. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Topeka, KS. Family and friends are invited to a reception following the service at 3:00 p.m. at the Country Inn and Suites located at 6020 SW 10th St. Mabel was married in 1943 to Eugene Bouley. As a homemaker and mother, she enjoyed gardening and sewing as Gene’s career with Southwestern Bell took them across the state of Kansas. They lived 12 years in Ellsworth, KS where she was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church. Gene and Mabel retired in Topeka, KS in 1976. While in Topeka, she was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. After Gene’s death in 2009 Mabel moved to Norwalk, Iowa to be closer to family. Mabel is survived by her two daughters Sherry (Garry) Fleming of Norwalk, IA and Val (Scott) Seely of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter-in-law Barb Bouley of Des Moines, IA; six grandchildren; and seven great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Gene; son Darrell (Barb) Bouley; and six sisters, Marcella, Beatrice, Valeria, Fern, Edna Mae, and Grace. In lieu of flowers, donations may be addressed to the Norwalk Easter Public Library Foundation, sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Avenue, Topeka, KS 66603.
