Description	:	Mrs. Maggie M. Wood, a resident of Dundy county for 70 years, was laid at rest in the Hiawatha cemetery on Thursday after services at the Methodist church. Mrs. Wood had succumbed to a heart attack on the previous Monday after an illness of ten days. Forrest French officiated at the service with music by the Church of Christ choir. Mrs. Wood had succumbed to a heart attack on the previous Monday after an illness of ten days. Forrest French officiated at the service with music by the Church of Christ choir. Casket bearers were Freddie Wood, Claude Wood, Glen Wood, William B. Little, Earnest D. Little and Byron L. Little. The services were under the direction of the Laughlin Funeral Home. Maggie M. Wood departed this life June 1, 1959, at her home in Benkelman, Nebraska, after a brief illness and a week's confinement in the Benkelman hospital. She had been released from the hospital for about ten days and apparently was well on the road to recovery when she was suddenly taken by an apparent heart attack. She was blessed by extreme good health and vitality till the last and her greatest joy was to help others and serve her Master. Maggie M. Edwards, daughter of David and Elon Edwards, was born on July 10, 1879, at Cuba, Kansas, and passed away June 1, 1959, at the age of 79 years, 10 months and 20 days. Her early life was spent at Cuba, Republic County, Kansas, and at the age of nine she came to Dundy county with her parents where she helped them develop their homestead near Rollwitz. On January 25, 1898, she and her sister, Laura, married brothers, Byron C. and Albert M. Wood. at a double wedding. Then they homesteaded and developed their farm near Rollwitz, then for 51 years of married life she utilized her outstanding talents of love, kindness and consideration to being a wonderful wife and mother. Her husband, Byron C., and two infant sons, preceded her in death. She left to mourn her passing three children, Hazel, Clifford and Fay, eight grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and a great number of nephews and nieces. Also, preceding her in death were two brothers, Albert and Walter and five sisters, Mary, Laura, Nettie, Peachie and Etta Mae. She was the last of the Edwards family.
