She is Mrs. Margaret A. Liming who passed away at the Jefferson county hospital following an illness of several years, which had been serious since last Friday. She was admitted to the hospital on Monday, Jan. 17, from her home at 301 N. Second. Mrs. Liming and her late husband, John M. Liming, served as steward and matron of the Jefferson county home south of Fairfield for a number of years. Last rites will be Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Hoskins funeral home with Dr. C. R. Douglass in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. Margaret A. Liming, 84, was born Feb. 11, 1870, in Clark county near Springfield, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Moses and Eliza Kiger. She came to Iowa with her parents, three brothers and two sisters in 1884. The family lived on a farm near Glasgow in Round Prairie township, and she attended country schools in that community. On Jan. 12, 1898, she was united in marriage to John M. Liming. The wedding took place in Fairfield. Mr. and Mrs. Liming were for many years steward and matron of the Des Moines county home near Burlington. They then moved to the Jefferson county home and served in the same capacity, serving there faithfully until 1931 when they retired from service. Mrs. Liming also served three years at the state hospital in Mt. Pleasant as assistant supervisor. Both Mr. and Mrs. Liming were well loved by the patients at the county home and they affectionately called Mrs. Liming "Aunt Margaret." The Jefferson county home was under the care of the Kiger family for 48 years. Mrs. Liming was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Liming, who passed away May 15, 1947, her sister, Mrs. Enola Clinkebeard who died in June, 1942 and a brother, Lewis Kiger who passed away in August, 1913. She is survived by two brothers, O.W. Kiger, Ottumwa; Noble I. Kiger, Fairfield, and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Liming was a member of the First Presbyterian church of Fairfield, a member of the Daughters of Union Veterans, Chapter No. 39 O.E.S., and the Eastern Star club.
