Green, 75, Topeka, died Monday, Dec. 9, 1996 at a Topeka hospital. Mrs. Green worked for the state in the Secretary of State and Alcohol Beverage Control Department for 40 years before she retired in 1983. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Eucharistic Adoration Society. She was born Aug. 10, 1921 in Topeka, the daughter of Stephen John and Elizabeth L. Artzer Stramel. She married Lawrence E. Green on March 31, 1967 at Wichita. He survives. Other survivors include three daughters, Doris Hammond, Topeka, Frances Bayley, Olathe, and Sharon Buress, Meriden; a brother, Clement V. Stramel in Nevada; a sister, Josephine Young, Topeka; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be at Prairie Home Cemetery. Mrs. Green will lie in state from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where a St. Anthony Guild rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. followed by an altar society rosary recited at 3:30 p.m., and a parish rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m., followed by a Eucharistic society rosary at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Hospital, 1700 S.W. 7th, Topeka.
