Description	:	Maudie Jane Coffey, age 92, of Bean Station, born February 9, 1928, passed away peacefully with family at her side on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at the home of her daughter. She was saved as a young girl at Yellow Springs Baptist Church in Snake Hollow where she remained a member. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Hobart David Coffey, her 2 sons, Ray Dean Coffey, who passed away December 7, 2020, David Ray Coffey and her infant son Billy Coffey, as well as her grandsons, Shannon Dale Welch and Christopher David Coffey. She was saved as a young girl at Yellow Springs Baptist Church in Snake Hollow where she remained a member. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Hobart David Coffey, her 2 sons, Ray Dean Coffey, who passed away December 7, 2020, David Ray Coffey and her infant son Billy Coffey, as well as her grandsons, Shannon Dale Welch and Christopher David Coffey. Also, her parents, Harrison and Sarah Bolden, her 2 brothers and 4 sisters. She is survived by her son, Jerry Coffey, daughters, Wanda (Cotton) McDaniel, Buena (Bill) Hipsher, and daughter-in-law, Kathy Coffey, all of Bean Station; along with 10 grandchildren, Greg, Todd, Sherry, Jerry Jr., Amanda, Charlie, Crystal, Amy, Ashley, and Wendy; 25 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; as well as her 2 sisters, Juanita Patterson and Virgie (James) Atkins of Hancock County, all who loved her dearly. She was also loved and admired from all her nieces and nephews. Maudie was a very independent woman who loved to quilt, garden, and cook. She loved to make fried apple pies and would have people come from out of state to get them. She was a very strong willed woman who loved her family and amazed them with her strength even in her final days. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 24, 2020 at Alder Funeral Home with Rev. J.W. Dalton officiating. Interment will follow in Meadow Branch Cemetery in Bean Station. Pallbearers will be Todd Coffey, Jared Coffey, Charlie Hipsher, Matthew Hipsher, Luke Hipsher, and Lucas Southerland. To follow Hamblen County Covid-19 protocol, we do ask that you please wear a mask and practice social distancing. Arrangements by Alder Funeral Home
