Read More	May Elleen Clinton Born in Cody, NB on Oct. 22, 1919 Departed on Apr. 8, 2006 and resided in Salinas, CA. Cemetery: Garden of Memories Cemetery May Ellen Clinton passed away due to heart failure in her home on Saturday morning. May was born on October 22, 1919 in Cody, Nebraska where she grew up with eight brothers and sisters on the family ranch. It wasn't until she met the love of her life, Thomas Marshall Clinton, that she left the ranch. Tom's "Clinton Charm" wooed her into marriage and the birth of their first child Dee Mitchell. While Tom served his country during WWII, May single-handedly raised Dee for about six years. On his return from war they lived in Valentine, NB where Tommie was born. Later they moved to Spirit Lake, Iowa where their other children Clovis, Mark and Cherish, were born. They owned a grocery store for about 10 years before driving a school bus turned motor home out to California. Once they came through the green hills overlooking the Salinas Valley May said, "Stop, this is where we're going to live." Having only each other to depend on and strong determination, May and Tom started out with nothing and ended with a successful business and loving family. They have run T and M Clinton Beauty Supply for over 35 years, along with various beauty shops on the Central Coast. May also ran "Hats For Us" located next door, only selling designer hats from New York. "You have to be a special kind of person to wear a hat, only few are," she would always say. May was a very outgoing, passionate and confident woman who spoke her mind with a loving nature. Known for her frequent "Letters to the Editor," May was deeply rooted in the Salinas V alley, knowing anyone and everyone. She was a preacher of common sense and the best storyteller ever heard. May was very spiritual and connected with God, teaching Sunday school to children throughout her life. May was a woman to be admired, her character was truly unique and her spirit eternally vibrant. She always took pride in her family and loved each of us unconditionally. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Marshall Clinton; son, Mark Bradley Clinton; Grandsons, Greg Mitchell and Andrew Clinton; Son In Law, Duane Mitchell. Survivors: Daughters, Dee Mitchell and Cherish Clinton of Salinas Sons, Tom Clinton of Chico and Clovis (Leslie) Clinton of Salinas Brother, Jim Homan of Meza, Arizona 14 Grandchildren 7 Great Grandchildren Not only have we lost a valuable member of our family, but a role model of exceptional spirit and she will always be remembered.
