Description	:	Milton Ericson departed this life last Saturday forenoon, August 10, 1974, at his home in Battle Lake, Minnesota, as the result of a heart attack. He was 69 years of age. Milton E. Ericson was born December 23, 1904, in Sioux Valley Township, Union County, South Dakota. His parents were William and Emma Ericson. He was baptized January 22 1905, in Union Creek Lutheran Church, with Pastor Olof Allin, officiating. As a youth he was confirmed in this church, June 3, 1923. Read More	Milton Ericson departed this life last Saturday forenoon, August 10, 1974, at his home in Battle Lake, Minnesota, as the result of a heart attack. He was 69 years of age. Milton E. Ericson was born December 23, 1904, in Sioux Valley Township, Union County, South Dakota. His parents were William and Emma Ericson. He was baptized January 22 1905, in Union Creek Lutheran Church, with Pastor Olof Allin, officiating. As a youth he was confirmed in this church, June 3, 1923. Pastor Emil Johnson was his Confirmation pastor. At a wedding service in Union Creek Church, February 16, 1927, he was united in marriage to Miss Margaret Hamilton. Pastor David J. Edward officiated at this service. From then until in late, 1945, they farmed in this community. Early in March 1946, they moved to Rock Rapids, Iowa. Milton sold the Sioux City Journal for several years; he operated a gasoline and oil service station; he sold investments after that until his retirement in 1969. After his retirement, he lived in the summertime at Battle Lake, Minnesota, and in the wintertime in Mesa, Arizona. He was active as a member of the Kiwanis Club. From infancy until his departure from this community, he was an active member of Union Creek Church. Then he was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rock Rapids for 25years. Since then he belonged to an open country Lutheran Church near Battle Lake, Minnesota. When in Mesa, Arizona, he was active in the church he attended there. Milton Ericson become quickly a friend of everyone he met. He was never a stranger in any group very long. At once he introduced himself and volunteered his help wherever needed. Thus he was regularly involved wherever he was. Among those who survive his departure are: his wife, Margaret Ericson; his two sons, Arlo of St Joseph, Missouri, and Roger of San Francisco, California; his five grandchildren; his three sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Waterman of Akron, Mrs. Wilma Claeys and Mrs. Miriam Enockson, both of Sioux City, Iowa; other relatives and many friends.
