Description	:	Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie Dearborn were held Friday afternoon from the Presbyterian church. Services were conducted by Rev. Verniece Smith, pastor of the Pleasant Valley church, assisted by Rev. Joseph Andrews. Mrs. Dearborn, a pioneer resident of the county, passed away at her home in Miller, November 27. Out of town relatives here for the services were Mrs. Grace Parmely and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Gerloff Hansen, and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Loveless of Wessington Springs, and Arthur Parmely of Wheatland, Wyoming. Minnie Mae Parmely was born near Cobb, Wisconsin, January 14, 1879. She was the eldest daughter of Melvin A. and Elizabeth [Ferrill] Parmely. When four years of age she moved with her family to Hawkeye, Iowa, where they lived for several years, coming to this county in 1882. She was married November 15, 1888 to Oscar W. Dearborn and they established their home in Pleasant Valley township. To this union two children were born, Mrs. Vera Collier and Ray F. Dearborn, both of Miller. There are surviving here these two children, seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Rhoda Wood of Wenatchee, Washington, and one brother, Arthur G. Parmely of Wheatland, Wyoming. She was a member of the Eastern Star. She was a charter member of the Pleasant Valley Congregational church and was deeply interested in its spiritual growth in the community. "Gone the face we loved so dear, Gone the voice we loved to hear, Too far away for speech, But not too far for thought to reach, And tho' she is no longer near, To us she is still as dear."
