She was born in Loudon Township, Carroll County but had made her home in Jewett for many years. The body will be at the Arbaugh & Son Funeral Home in Carrollton until Friday afternoon, where friends may call. She is survived by six sons, three daughters, three brothers, one sister and several grandchildren. Her obituary in the Carroll Journal, Carrollton, Ohio, Thursday, March 19, 1936. Mrs. Nancy Arvilla Meyers, 81, of Jewett died at her home Thursday morning, March 19, from a stroke suffered on February 15. She was born in Loudon Township, March 17, 1855, the daughter of John and Abigail Slates. Mrs. Meyers was a member of the Lutheran Church. Surviving are six sons, John of Jefferson County, Joseph of Harrison County, Charles, Bird, Rennison and Berl of Jewett; three daughters, Mrs. Pearl Cronnable of Jewett, Mrs. Dell Kohler of Kilgore and Hazel Meyers of the home; three brothers, Samuel Slates of Bergholz, James Slates of Loudon Township and Charles Slates of Massillon and one sister, Mrs. Mary Hosterman of Jewett. Funeral services will be held at the home in Jewett on Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock, with Rev. E. O. Graham in charge.
