McQueen, for eighty-two years a resident of Carroll County, died at her home in Union Township, May 1, 1911, aged 82 years, 2 months and 29 days. She had been a suffer for the past four years but bore her suffering with patience trusting in a Savior's love, and when near the end of life, sang many beautiful and favorite hymns. She united with the Presbyterian Church at New Hagerstown at the age of twelve years, afterward joined the M. E. Church at Tabor, and later transferred to M. P. Church at Palermo, where she remained faithful until death. She was a kind and loving mother. She has gone to that land of the blest where it's one bright summer always, and storms do never come. She will be missed not only in the home, where all will seem so dark and lonely, but by friends and neighbors so well. She was married to David McQueen, November 1, 1855. To this union were born six children, three of whom have preceded her to the great beyond. She leaves to mourn her death: Viema, at home; Ella Dayhuff, near Dellroy; Moffett, of Leesville, and one brother, David Buck, of Carbon, Indiana, and ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, besides large circle of friends, but our loss is eternal gain. The funeral services were held from the Tabor Church at 10 o'clock Thursday, May 4. She was laid beside the deceased husband, who died March 17, 1907. Rev. Wert conducted the service. The floral offerings were beautiful.
